REBURN (Hot Shots #1)
Blurb
Not every man knows how to put out a fire. Fewer know when to keep it burning…

HE BATTLES THE FLAMES…

Nobody messes with Sam Clayton—or his territory. The big bruising ranger is the last line of defense in forest infernos and he’ll go up against anyone who gets in the way of putting them out. Even the FBI tracking a terrorist through the heart of a blaze. But when Sam discovers the agent is ex-lover Olivia Albert, saving himself will be more dangerous than any fire he’s faced before…

SHE LIVES FOR THE HEAT…

Olivia needs Sam’s help to survive the heat, but when it comes to keeping her quarry from detonating a major strike, this Bureau agent is calling the shots. Except when Sam’s hard body and expert hands are reigniting a second chance that could be hot enough to burn forever

My Review
Sam Clayton doesn't allow anyone to mess with his area of forest to protect. He fights fires and is good at his job. When a terrorist uses his area to hide out in Sam is more than willing to help get him. The problem he has is an old fling is working as and FBI agent and vows to bring him in. While a fire is raging all around them they have to find a safe place to stay and to try and get the mad man. The fire isn't the only thing heating up as Sam and Olivia rekindle their old love and maybe get the chance to do it right this time.

Sam works really hard at his job and is proud of the work he does. He wants to put fires out and keep the area safe. He is protective of his other hotshot fire fighters and of people in the path of the fire.. He is very sexy and can be bossy but that is his job. Olivia isn't one to back down and she wants to get this terrorist and get the recognition she deserves. She walked away years ago from Sam but still cares for him. She isn't one to be bossed around. She is very smart and good at her job as well.

This is a short story so it was a quick read. I like the plot and the author does a good job describing the scenes. I could see the fire clearly and all that was going on. Sam and Olivia are a great pair as they still have chemistry years later. They work well together and they heat up as quickly as the fire does. I would have liked to see more of them maybe more flashbacks to were they were younger but that is just me. The story moves at a great pace and nothing is left out of place. They both have decisions to make at the end and I really hoped they both would open their eyes to really see what they could have. If you enjoy a nice hot story ( in more ways than one), action and a good plot pick this one up.

 HOT ZONE (Hot Shots #2)

FIGHTING FIRE IS HIS NATURE

To Dade Johnson, fire is a danger he can handle. But the blaze he feels from the moment he lays eyes—and hands, and mouth—on Sarah Jo is too hot to handle. Something about the free-spirited camp cook has him throwing caution to the wind. Little does the hotshots’ second-in-command know he’s cozying up with a suspected arsonist….

SHE CAN’T HELP FANNING THE FLAMES

Sarah Jo knows she should steer clear of Dade. A bona fide hero who battles wildland fires every day deserves better than a woman on the run. But their five-alarm attraction has Sarah Jo too weak in the knees to resist playing with fire—until her past catches up with her. Soon, she’ll have to choose between surrendering her secrets—or taking them both down in flames….

My Review
Sarah Jo is on the run and hiding out working as a camp cook for fireman. She has a crooked cop who is also her ex after her and she wants to stay out of sight. She isn't looking for love or lust just safety. When she is couched into giving a kiss to fireman Dade she isn't prepare for what she started. Dade has had his eye on Sarah Jo for a while. She isn't like the other cooks and he can tell she is hiding something. The two quickly  come together after their kiss and the passion between them explodes. When the crazy ex finds Sarah Jo Dade has to see who he believes a man of the law or the woman with his heart.

Sarah Jo is at times to me funny. She wears clothes that don't really fit the area and likes to joke with the other cooks. She is scared and has been hurt before but doesn't give up on love. Sometimes I did wonder if she would just run. Dade is a hello sexy fireman. He really has never took down roots and lived in one spot. I will say in one scene he was on a motorcycle and that just made him so much hotter. He is a very loving man and protects those he cares about.

This is another short quick read but very hot. I love Dade and Sarah Jo from the start and really connected with both of them. There is a great plot as it has a crooked cop and a woman on the run. Sarah Jo runs from him but I will say she shows some backbone and spirit in the end. I also really enjoyed all the other fireman and cooks who stand up for her . Fireman really are like a big family and this book really shows you how much they can be one. The steamy scenes between Dane and Sarah Jo are wonderful and you can see while they may not have been around each other a long time they really belong together. I am really liking both books I have read in this series and my only complaint is I wish they were longer just because for me they are good and I want more.

Author Info
I live in Northern California with my husband, two kids and four cats. After ten years of graduate school and too many degrees, I escaped to become a technical writer. When not planted firmly in front of the laptop translating Engineer into English, I enjoy gardening, running (even if it’s just to the 7-11 for slurpees), and reading books curled up with my kids. The best part of writing romance, however, is finally being able to answer the question: “So… what do you do with a PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures?” You can visit me online at www.anne-marsh.com.
