Join Robby and the others on their journey toward understanding and fulfillment, in this truly novel approach to changing YOUR life.

Excerpt
Liz liked him like this—listening to other people’s problems, thinking about how to help them. This was the Robby whose principles in coaching and teaching had been the basis of his bestselling book. They were solid principles, and he’d taught them for years, and Liz knew herself that they did change people’s lives.

The Robby she had trouble admiring had emerged as the book shot up the bestseller lists. Always neat and well groomed, he’d now become fanatically clothes-conscious. He’d recently begun to order custom-made suits and add monograms to his expensive English shirts. While she decided how many new computers they needed for the office, he flew to New York for fittings with the city’s most exclusive tailor. She hired and trained new staff, and he consulted a professional colorist and lightened his hair.

When Robby solicited her opinion afterward, Liz asked, “What about the people who were fans before, some of our biggest customers? Won’t these flashy changes bother them?”

“You’re not looking at the big picture,” he said patiently. “These people are coming to me for answers. They expect to see someone who has them.”

Liz chose her words carefully. “And someone who has the answers is—attractive? Youthful? Using a facelift?”

“Stop it.” He glared at her. “The spa people I talked to said weekly facials were a good idea. They said it would make my skin softer and make me seem more approachable.”

Liz couldn’t think of any polite answer to that.

The current Robby had shown up after Marie moved out. It didn’t help that Liz knew why. But what did his wife expect him to do, now that he was finally creating a national impression?

It’s difficult seeing him humbled, Liz thought. Robby had worked a long time for success and done whatever was necessary, cheerfully and willingly, to achieve it. Yeah, he’d gone overboard with the glitzy success guy. It was still hard watching him hurt—not because he’d failed, but because he’d succeeded, after years of striving. And seeing him hurt over his family’s defection upset Liz. It wasn’t right, but there was nothing she could do about it.

Liz thought all these things while she watched Robby stare out the window. Sad that things hadn’t been good for him personally since the publication of Realizing You.

Professionally, things were fantastic. The book was a runaway bestseller, the website hits had gone crazy, Robby’s online presence had gone viral. One month after the book shot to number one, Liz arranged joint ventures, after five years of trying, with three of the top personal-development people in the country, all who eagerly endorsed Robby’s work and sought his endorsement as well.

They’d taken a huge step forward. Robby’s plan, scrawled on a piece of paper torn from a dime-store notebook, was starting to come true, in a big way. He’d been aiming at this success for a decade, and he’d brought in Liz five years ago to set up the structure and foundation while he set about becoming the persona in whom people could put their faith.

Both of them had succeeded, but now Robby was failing in all the important areas of his life.

Interview
1. What is the sweetest thing someone has done for you?

Given me an unexpected, positive surprise. My former wife completely surprised me on my 40th birthday. We went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, arriving back at our apartment at 11:00 p.m., a little tipsy after a couple of drinks. I put the key in the door, opened it, and there were about 30 of my closest friends starting to sing happy birthday. A sweet gift from my wife at time—it doesn’t get any sweeter than that.

2. What kind of music you like?

I like a wide variety of music; but, my two favorites are jazz and baroque. I listen to my local jazz station, preferring piano and sax renditions. I find jazz music expressive, liberating and just plain fun. It puts a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. I like the traditional baroque of the two+ centuries ago, especially Pachelbel. And, I am a continuing fan of the Beatles, who adapted baroque to an innovative form. I started humming “I Want to Hold Your Hand” as I was typing this.

3. Do you like to dance?

Yes, but I’m not good at it. I have no natural rhythm; I just don’t feel the beat. And, I almost always start on the wrong beat. But, if my dance partner will stay with me, I can really enjoy being on the dance floor. A warning to all—stay away from me in a line dance, I can’t seem to follow the leader.

4. Can you describe your dream home?

My dream home would be somewhere near San Diego, on the ocean, with one floor and lot of windows and skylights and spacious rooms, with some distance from my closest neighbors. I would, also, like it to be within walking distance of some little stores that sell a few groceries and current newspapers and magazines. I would like for the house to have separate living quarters for family and friends, whom I would like to see a lot of. Space, light, privacy, walks and runs on the beach and lot of visitors (in their own living space). Sounds good to me.

5. If you could be any character, from any literary work, who would you choose to be? Why?

It would probably be the Scarlett Pimpernel. He was fearless, romantic, smart, kind, and generous, and believed in justice for all. Moreover, he was a thoughtful person who knew when and how to act on his convictions and the needs of others. To me, he was a true hero, who knew when and how to love and to fight.

Destined For Love Blog Tour - Review & Giveaway

Hi everyone! I have a stop on the Destined For Love blog tour. There is a review of the book and a giveaway for you all.

Destined for Love
The Bradens Series Book Two
By: Melissa Foster

Blurb
Rex Braden is wealthy, hard working, and fiercely loyal. Sweat at his brow, he works the family ranch by day, then kicks back at night with part time lovers who require nothing more than his physical presence a few times each week. But that was before. Before Jade Johnson, the daughter of the man his father has been feuding with for over forty years, moves back into town.

After ditching a horrific relationship—and her veterinary practice in the process—Jade Johnson returns to the safety of her small hometown and finally finds her footing. That is...until her horse is injured and Rex Braden comes to her rescue. The last thing she needs is a bull-headed, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Braden complicating her life.

Despite the angry family history, sparks fly between Rex and Jade, and attitudes follow. Fifteen years of stifled, forbidden love stirs a surge of passion too strong for either to deny—and the rebel in each of them rears its powerful head. Loyalties are tested, and relationships are strained. Rex and Jade are about to find out if true love really can conquer all.

My Review
Rex lives and breathes the family ranch. Other than his family it is all he cares about. He has always been the one to hold everything in. That all changes when Jade moves back to town. He has always liked her but with their families feuding for years he knows it will never work. Jade has moved back home after a bad breakup. She and Rex butt heads on more than one occasion. They both can't fight what is between them even knowing it will never work because of their families. They will have to figure it out with some help from the past to work things out.

Jade is a vet who believes in more than medicine can help heal an animal. She is good at her job and wants to help all animals. She can be very stubborn and doesn't back down from Rex one bit. Rex is pretty much a rugged rancher who is very sexy. Once he sets his mind to something he doesn't let go of it. He is a hard worker and very loyal to his family. It does cause him some problems at times. These two are good characters apart but together they are wonderful.

I adore this series and always can't wait to pick up the next book and read it. You really get to see these characters and how they interact with each other. The author does a great job with them as you can't help but want them all to be happy. I liked both Rex and Jade as they have like a modern day Hatfield & McCoy thing going on. It isn't their feud but they find themselves tangled up in it. They really don't know for sure what the feud is over. They have some help from the past getting together and working out their feelings. I love that touch the author added as it shows love years later and feels very magical. I liked learning more about Rex's family and I have to say I hope nothing happens to Hope in these books as that horse is very special. If you are looking for a fantastic series about a wonderful family and love grab this series.

Faking it never felt so good.

Wedding photographer and romance lover Izzy Latham dreams of finding her own happily-ever-after. When her former teenage crush arrives at her doorstep, looking sexier than ever, and asks to marry her, it should be her dream come true, right? Wrong. It turns out he doesn’t want to actually marry her—he only wants to pretend to marry her.

Marriage hater Jack Carter will do anything to close his latest business deal, including finding a wife. The only person who can help him is his childhood friend, Izzy. Except Izzy isn’t a little girl anymore. She’s definitely all woman, and there’s an attraction between them that’s hard to ignore.

Jack has to convince Izzy to fake it, but the problem is that she hates to lie. However, she can’t deny her feelings for him either. So when Jack makes her an offer she can’t refuse, she reluctantly agrees to help him out.

Faking it is the easy part. But what happens when fake starts to feel so real?

Content Warning: contains sensual sex and occasional strong language

My Review
Izzy dreams of a perfect marriage. She believes that a marriage is everyone's happily ever after. When she opens the door to find her old crush she is surprised and not to happy to find he wants her to have a fake marriage with him. Jack hates marriage but needs Izzy's help to seal the deal on a business deal. As they work together to set up a fake wedding they grow closer and find their feelings aren't to fake.

This is a very enjoyable story as you get the background on these two as.you read. Izzy has always been crazy for Jack but knows he never felt that way about her. He was more into her sister. She wants the thing her parents had, a wonderful marriage. Jack hates marriage and doesn't want any part of it. He has plans in mind and he tries his best to stay distant from Izzy. Izzy fights him every inch of the way to get what she wants Jack. They both have some secrets they have to share and I was surprised by a few. I liked seeing them let their guards down and find each other. They balance each other nicely. I love the ending and how Izzy changes her mind.

Excerpt
"Let me work off the money," Izzy said.

She felt Jack's gaze rake over her body, watched the clench of his jaw. "And how are you planning to work it off, Isabel?" he almost growled. "Is that what all of this is about?" he asked as his hand made an indicating sweep over her body. "Dress to impress so you can pay me in kind?"

"Oh God, no," she spluttered. "This is me showing you I'm not the weak, naïve girl I used to be and I won't be pushed around!"

The hard glint in his eyes softened slightly. "You were never weak. Naïve…" He trailed off. "So how exactly were you planning to pay me back?"

"Working here for you for free until I pay you back. I could collect glasses, work the bar, or clean."

"And you have experience in any of those roles?"

"No. But I could learn."

"But what about the house repairs?"

She shrugged. "I could do that during the daytime and work here at night. Then when I'm earning again from my day job I'll pay you back."

"And what exactly is your day job?"

"I'm a photographer. I could even do that here. Take photographs of the patrons and sell them for you."

"You work freelance?”

"I have my own business." She hesitated before elaborating. "As a wedding photographer," she said quickly, hoping he wouldn't snag the teasing opportunity.

Too late. The corner of his mouth quirked until it bloomed until a grin. "A wedding photographer. How appropriate. I knew playing dress-up with your mother's veil and having teddy bears as your guests would have an influence on you one day."

"You mean like wanting to have a traditional wedding where the groom doesn't have to bribe the bride? Yeah, my childhood messed me up real bad," she said with sarcasm.

"You're not working here, Izzy. And this conversation is over."

"No, it's not. I'm giving you a solution to paying off what I owe. I'll work off the amount Ellie paid for our debts and the rest you get from her. So when do I start?"

"You are not working here."

"Why?"

"Do you really want to have some guy groping you as you serve drinks? Or a group of guys? I run a tight ship and look out for my staff, but sometimes it happens."

"I can look after myself. I have been groped before, you know. I can deal with it."

He slid his chair closer, bending his legs so hers surrounded him without touching, but close, very close. He looked up at her under dark lashes. "So if some guy puts a hand on your leg you wouldn’t mind?"

She shook her head.

"And if that hand strayed beneath your dress?" he asked as his hand reached out to graze the sensitive skin of her inner thigh, making her shudder.

She shook her head slowly, earning a dark look. Of course she would mind. But this was Jack.

He stood abruptly, stepping into the v of her thighs. "And if a guy tried to kiss you?"

"I have been kissed before, remember?" she said, inwardly cringing at how breathless she sounded.

"I remember being a boy kissing you as a girl. If I were to kiss you now I wouldn’t be holding back and I wouldn’t be kissing you as a boy—I’d be kissing you as a man."

"Then do it," she demanded.

Somebody To Love
A Cupid Texas Novel
By: Lori Wilde
Releasing Dec 31st, 2013

Blurb
New York Times bestselling author Lori Wilde invites you back to Cupid, Texas, where love is only a heartbeat away . . .

Sexy cowboy-scholar Jericho Chance always knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. And after sauntering back home to Cupid, he’s shocked to discover that he wants Zoe McCleary. After years from home, he takes one new look at his bubbly best friend, with her lightning smarts and luscious body, and it hits him like a bolt: she’s his somebody to love and he’s not leaving town again without her.

Settling down always seemed like a time waster to Zoe, a man magnet with a trail of broken hearts behind her. She’s not meant to settle down—but how can she resist someone as persuasive as Jericho? There’s no way they can ignore the explosive chemistry seething between them . . . even if it means risking their friendship...

My Review
Zoe has always been known as the one who never sticks to anything. She has a great heart but is flighty. The only thing constant in her life is Jericho. He has been her best friend for years. Jericho has tried to think of Zoe as just a friend. Now that he is back in town he realizes that isn't going to happen. They both know they feel more for each other but they have to wait. Jericho' s job and Zoe' s inheritance is on the line. They discover more than their growing love on a dig site. What they find may just cost them more than they know.

Zoe I love so much. She never sits still, always into something and has really great mind. She may seem flighty but she really has just been looking for the one thing she really wants. She in some ways is afraid to say how she feels and you get to see just how brave she can be. Jericho is the sexy man next door. He is a wonderful friend who has a few things blocking his bright future. He is very good at his work and really believes in things he can see. They both even each other out really well.

I love Cupid and I was so happy to go back again in this fantastic book. These two characters have become some of my favorites. They just draw you in and you want to see more of them. This book isn't just about romance. There is so much fascinating action going on and a history to unravel. At one point I wanted to hurry them up so I could see what they found. I got wrapped up not just in the characters but the whole plot. There is an element of danger as well and Zoe will stop your heart at some points. If you like a book that you can't put down and keeps your interest all the way through puck this one up. The author is a master at creating a wonderful book to enjoy.
