Belinda “Bee” Carter is a good girl; at least, that’s what she tells herself. And a good girl deserves a nice guy—just like the gorgeous and moody billionaire Nicolas Rainer. He is everything she wants in a man.

Or so she thinks, until she takes a look through her telescope and sees a naked, tattooed man on the balcony across the courtyard. Hawke is mysterious, the bad boy she knows will bring only heartbreak. He has been watching her, and that makes him all the more enticing.

But when a mysterious and anonymous text message dares her to do something bad, she must decide if she is really the good girl she has always claimed to be, or if she’s willing to risk everything for her secret fantasy of being watched.

Is her mystery man the reclusive billionaire with a wild side or the darkly dangerous bad boy?

My Review
Belinda follows the rules and always does the right thing. She wants to land the great job she is applying for and meet a great man. She has her eye on Nicolas Rainer and thinks he is the perfect man for her. That is until she sees her sexy bad boy neighbor naked. Now she is getting text asking her to be naughty and she has to decide if she is going to stay the good girl forever or be the bad girl. She also has to figure who is sending the text Rainer or Hawke.

Belinda doesn't want to end up like her mother. She has big plans and will do anything to stay on the right path. She has the hots for Rainer and wants to be his wife. She isn't looking for a bad buy but mister right. However she has a naughty side no one knows about. She has fantasies she would love to come true but is afraid to let them out.

Having just finished this I so can't wait to read the next part. Things are starting to get good. I liked Hawke more than I did Rainer but that may change in the next book. I love how Belinda seems like the perfect sweet girl but has an inner sexy side she is just learning to let out. She won't do anything to get the job she wants but she does work hard to get it. She goes from no man to having two interested in her and a secret admirer. She has to figure out which one is the secret one and who sent her a gift. This looks to be the start of a great hot series that I look forward to reading. I can't wait to see what all Belinda gets into and how far she lets go.

Something's Brewing Between Friends…

Rachel Miller knows opening a café with coffee and pastries will make her struggling bookstore the place to hang out. But when the bank turns her down and her best friend Shane steps in, she vows business will never ruin their friendship.

Gourmet ice-cream maker Shane O’Hare knows food, not women. To sweep Rachel off her feet, he secretly sells his beloved ’67 Shelby Mustang and becomes a partner in her café. And then she sets him up with a friend.

As they build the café together, and Rachel learns what Shane has sacrificed for her, she finds herself falling for him. Now way too much is riding on the success of this business venture—her career, her best friend, and her heart.

My Review
Rachel knows her bookstore isn't doing to good and she just knows adding a cafe connecting to the bookstore will help it and make her a success. The only problem is the bank has turned her down for a loan. Just when it looks like her dreams are shot her best friend Shane offers to help her by becoming her partner. Shane is in love with Rachel and doesn't think she will ever overcome the just friends. Having a partnership will have them close together and Shane hope to help her get over that and become more. Rachel has had bad taste in men before and not looking to ruin what they have she tries to push him off on others. When she sees what all Shane has done for her and given up she may change her mind.

Rachel is very, very stubborn. She doesn't like to listen to others even when they know best. She has ave her heart away before and they all turned out bad. She is a great friend and will help in any way she can. She is just afraid of love. Shane is sweet, caring and also very stubborn. He will move mountains to give Rachel what she wants. They both are great friends and you can tell they clearly belong together.

This is the second book in this series I have read and I enjoyed it so much. I really enjoyed seeing Rachel and Shane butt heads. Both want things t be a success but Rachel thinks she can do everything herself. Shane tries not to push her but he thinks he knows what is best. Both should take the time to listen to each other but it wouldn't be as entertaining as it was. I liked seeing all the characters I already knew and seeing new ones. Some I liked and some I have to say seemed a little off to me. This is a book that is a page turner and leaves you wanting more. It has friendship, family, love and even some steaminess that made it a joy to read!

Do YOU Believe in the Pants?

Each summer, thousands secretly flock to a tiny yet charming hole-in-the-wall known as The Happy Pants Café. And what are they searching for? It’s not coffee. And it’s not pants. It’s true love, and they find it!

So what’s with the quirky name and what, exactly, is the café’s big secret? Harper Branton, a columnist for the San Francisco Tribune, who’d sooner believe in unicorns than in true love, is about to find out. And it’s the perfect story to save her train wreck of a career.

Too bad she’s got competition. He’s sexy, he’s arrogant, and he thinks she’s crazy.(Perhaps a little dangerous, too.) What kind of person doesn’t believe in love? And this coming from a dude!

When these two rivals go head to head, it's more like a WWF smackdown. A shared history binds them in wonderful, terrible ways quickly making their duel about more than just a news story. Will they tear each other apart for the win or end up as two new satisfied Happy Pants customers?

My Review
Harper doesn't believe in true love. She only believes in getting the story she is after. As a columnist her job is on the line if she doesn't get the story behind Happy Pants Cafe. She isn't alone in the hunt for the story another columnist is also trying to get the scoop and he has already almost cost her her job. Austin wants the scoop but he wants Harper more. They have a history and he has never forgot what she did years ago. She left without saying goodbye. Now years later they keep butting heads. The Happy Pants Cafe seems to bring true loves together but these two may be more than even a special cookie can handle.

Austin is a very sexy man. He has plans for his future and he doesn't want to be stuck doing this type of columns. He can be very stubborn, jealous at times and can make you laugh as well. Harper is a facts person. She doesn't believe in nonsense like love. She wants to keep her job. She has a sense of humor some don't get. She can also be very stubborn and has been jealous of Austin for a while.

Whether in anger or lust there always seems to be some kind of heat coming from Harper and Austin. Usually couples in books are opposites or have some in common. Not these two at all. They both seem just a like. What sets one off will set the other off as well. They have the same jobs and while they both want each other something keeps coming between them. There is tons of hilarity in this book. Harper had me laughing several times from pigs to spiders to a whole lot more. I liked the plot of this and all the characters I met while reading it. The back story to the cafe was a very sweet touching one. I look forward to more books in this series as this one makes an amazing start.

Answers that she must find… A truth that he can’t escape… And ghosts up to no good…

Being a demi-god has its privileges. For the young nymph, Starling Jackson, it means the gift of seduction and more than that—near immortality. Yet, when her life is filled with spirits, immortality may not be all it’s cracked up to be.

With the help of her bodyguard, Jasper Gray, and secret books left to her by her late-mother’s friend, she may have found the answer to all of her problems. First, they must find a way to locate the books in their enemy’s hotbed all while staying safe and most importantly—without falling in love.

In the battles between the head and the heart and enemies and friends, tough decisions must be faced—and sacrifices made.

My Review
Starling is trying her best to get rid of the spirits who haunt her. She is a young nymph who has lost her mother and has to find 3 books that will help her send the ghost away. However to get the books she has to go to a dangerous area with shifters who are out to capture her. the same kind of shifters who killed her mother.  She isn't alone as Jasper has followed her to be her bodyguard. Beside the ghost, shifters a body guard she has feelings for she also has a voodoo queen to deal with.

Starling doesn't ask for help and wants to do this on her own. She is very stubborn. She has a great talent but she lets the spirits following her bother her. I liked her as she isn't one to stand by waiting for someone to save her. Jasper is a very amazing guy. I liked him right away. He cares for Starling but tries to hide it. He has a job to do and he doesn't plan to fail at it. He will do anything to protect Starling.

I enjoyed many parts of this book. I love Starling and Jasper together. Starling even friends a child who is a ghost and while at first I was on the fence on liking her or not that changed my mind. The idea of all the different shifters, plus mythology and ghost plus more had this book packed full of fascinating characters. At first I was a little confused on what was going on but the more I read the more I got what was going on. There is plenty of action and danger. There is also love in this book as well. I would tell anyone who is a paranormal fan looking for a different type of book to try this one.

Chapter One

It was a strange feeling to know that she was probably going to die and to not really care. The last year of Starling Jackson’s life had been filled with ghosts, lies, her mother’s murder, and the death of an enemy—a death fraught with dangerous threats. Finally, the time had come to make her stand against her world and the ghosts and enemies who inhabited it, even if that stand cost her the only thing she had left to give: her life.

She walked through the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and to the baggage claim area where a cluster of people moved in a precarious dance of personalities, the boldest of which pushed to the front of the group while the rest escaped to the far recesses of the room. Starling stood in the middle, pushed back by those struggling for a place at the front and nudged forward to stand as a barrier from the melee by those who hated the entire situation.

Don’t let them push you. You are stronger than this … take control, the familiar voice of the ghost Asclepius echoed in her mind.

“Oh, I’ll take control.” Reaching into her bag, Starling took out her pills and swallowed down a tablet. That made six. Or was it seven pills today? Regardless, it was a new record. There was no doubt the medicine was losing its effect in keeping the spirits at bay. If she didn’t find the Libros Umbrarum books soon, there wouldn’t be any break from the endless whispers and threats of the ghosts that invaded her reality.

I’ll be back … You will have to listen to me soon enough … Asclepius quieted.

“Not if I have my way.”

Carrier : Review

Carrier (The Line #1)
by Anne Tibbets

Blurb
Twenty-two -year-old Naya has spent nearly half her life as a sex slave in a government institution called The Line. When she’s kicked out after getting pregnant with twins, she’s got no way to earn a living and a horrifying choice to make: find someone to replace her, or have her babies taken in her stead.

A doctor with a history of aiding ex-Line girls, Ric Bennett, wants to help. He runs a team of rebels that can delete Naya’s records and free her forever. But when The Line sniffs out his plan, things get bloody, fast. Naya means more to them than just a chance at fresh faces—her twins are part of the government’s larger plan.

As they hide from government search parties, Ric comes to admire Naya’s quiet strength. And Naya realizes Ric might be a man she can trust. If they make it off the grid, they could build a new life. But first they’ll have to survive the long, vicious reach of The Line.

My Review
Naya doesn't remember a lot about her life with her real parents. She worked for a lady in a kitchen until she was old enough to become a sex slave. She has been a sex slave for most of her life. Now gets pulled off the line and is told she is pregnant. She has the chance to be free forever with her children if she brings a replacement in for herself. Once outside she quickly learns how it is outside the Line. She finds she can't subject another girl to the life she has led. She finds help in the form of some rebels. Doctor Ric Bennett gives her hope of keeping her children and being free. She finds he is the first man she thinks she can trust. They uncover with some help what really is going on and see Naya and her children are part of a bigger plan by The Line. As they are being hunted by government officials Naya just wants to get off the grid and have a normal life, but she may have to take down the line to do so.

Naya is someone who in her time on The Line has lived and that is about it. She goes away in her mind to get away from the horror she has to live each day. I don't blame her one bit either. She has had a horrible life. She has a strength even she doesn't understand yet and she doesn't want anyone else to go through what she has. She can be protective of others as well. Ric is so great. He tries his best to help girls who are taken off the Line and wants it shut down. He as t be quiet about it as it could cost him his life if he didn't. He doesn't believe in treating the girls like they are being treated. He doesn't try anything on Naya even as when he gets to know her he likes her. He just wants her safe and happy.

I wouldn't recommend this to any who are offended easy as you can tell from the blurb it involves a horrible place and Naya is in a bad situation. There isn't any graphic scenes but it is still hard to take for some. I thought this one would be different from other dystopian type books. It is that. The author does a great job in writing it as it is easy to follow and you see what a crappy place it is. I had a few things I didn't like but it was just me. I wanted to know more about her parents and how they could send her off like they did. I also had trouble connecting with Naya. What I did like was Ric. He was a great guy who did everything he could to save the girls on the line. He risk everything for them and doesn't ask anything for anything back. I do like that Naya decides they are her kids and no one is taking them from her no matter how she got pregnant. it showed she had good in her. She also doesn't want to leave anyone behind. It is a steady paced book that does keep your interest. I will be looking for more books by this author as I like the writing style.

Not A Drop To Drink : Review

Not a Drop to Drink (Not a Drop to Drink #1)
by Mindy McGinnis

Blurb
Regret was for people with nothing to defend, people who had no water.

Lynn knows every threat to her pond: drought, a snowless winter, coyotes, and, most importantly, people looking for a drink. She makes sure anyone who comes near the pond leaves thirsty, or doesn't leave at all.

Confident in her own abilities, Lynn has no use for the world beyond the nearby fields and forest. Having a life means dedicating it to survival, and the constant work of gathering wood and water. Having a pond requires the fortitude to protect it, something Mother taught her well during their quiet hours on the rooftop, rifles in hand.

But wisps of smoke on the horizon mean one thing: strangers. The mysterious footprints by the pond, nighttime threats, and gunshots make it all too clear Lynn has exactly what they want, and they won’t stop until they get it….

My Review
Water is a hard thing to come by. Lynn as ben lucky enough to grow up next to a pond with her mom teaching her how to purify the water and how to protect it. They keep to their selves and keep all others away from their place. She really doesn't have anyone but her mother and while the life is hard they are surviving. Now from their lookout on the roof they see smoke. Smoke is a bad sign as it means someone is close to them. Lynn will have to use everything she know as well as learn more if she is going to survive. New people coming close is just the beginning of a change coming for Lynn.

Lynn is a very smart girl. She doesn't know a lot about interaction with other people as she has only met one other person before. Their neighbor Stebbs is the only person her mom aloud to get close to them. She is strong and she knows what to do. She hates to but she will kill to protect her stuff. I liked her as she wasn't a whiney character and actual had a lot of strength.

This is a fantastic book as it was a joy to read from beginning to end. Lynn has so many struggles to face in this book. In the beginning you see what all she has to do to make ends meet and how they get their water. She has to work hard almost every day. When something horrible happens she has to learn more about the world than her mother taught her. She has to learn to open up to strangers and they show her what it is like to love. She knows nothing really about flirting and what it's like to care for someone other than her mother. She also learns she has to take charge and get rid of the men who are moving in on her place. She shows a great strength in someone her age. I have to say the ending is one I did not see coming and while I hated it I also think the author did an amazing job with it. If you enjoy dystopian books this is a must try.

Past My Defenses : Review

Past My Defenses (Taming the Pack #1)
by Wendy Sparrow

Blurb
Vanessa is the fastest Lycan around. In wolf form, the only threat she can’t outrun is her allergies. After a feline dander-bomb takes her down, she wakes up naked in a cage staring at a hot park ranger who had no idea what he’d trapped. But ooooh, he smells so good. Mine.

Dane hoped to tame the silver wolf in his kennel, but all bets are off with the deliciously sweet Vanessa on two legs. Her temper makes his pulse race, and he can’t escape the feeling they belong together.

They’re hot as a forest fire even before they scent-match, but Glacier Peak’s Alpha considers Dane a danger to the pack. Meanwhile, Lycans are being poached, and Vanessa has been targeted. Dane will have to keep her close to protect her, but with Vanessa in heat and mad to mate, who will protect him?

My Review
Vanessa may be a Lycan and the fastest one but she has issues with her allergies. They bring her down quickly. She even has allergies in her Lycan form. When a cat make her flare up her allergies extremely bad she awakes to find herself locked in a kennel. Dane is surprised when the wolf he has in a cage turns into a beautiful woman. He hasn't seen anything like her before but he just knows he wants to get to know her better. Vanessa has one thought in her mind and that is mine. Seems she has found her mate even if she doesn't want to believe it. Now the two struggle to come to an understanding. They have to work on their issues, hers being ready to run at the site of danger and his is to understand how the pack works. If that wasn't enough a killer is also out their and seems to be targeting Vanessa. They have their hands full and keeping Vanessa's allergies under control is just the start.

Dane is amazing to me. When he finds out their is Lycans, he takes it in stride really well and from the start does everything he can to protect Vanessa and become part of her world. He is also very sweet as he works to learn all her many allergies and help her. He is protective as well as he rushes into danger if he thinks it will save her. Vanessa is a funny character. She has problems not just a human with allergies but as a Lycan as well. It leads her into many problems. he is also a woman who is scared. She isn't used to facing her problems but used to running from them. She knows deep down Dane is her mate but tries to deny it and what she is many times.

This book is packed full of many things that make it amazing. You get lots of laughs with Vanessa's allergy issues. She has more medicine than anyone I have seen and more allergies. You also get the sexual tension between he two as they try to wait to do anything. They are different as night and day but they both need each other. You also have an element of danger as there is a killer running wild. The have to figure out who it is before the killer gets Vanessa. I liked all of this book and how the author tied everything together. It flows very nicely and was a joy to read. I look forward to more books in this series.

No touching allowed …

After serving her country, Georgia Trulane craves adventure—and sex. She's set her sights on her brother's best friend—now her boss, since she took a temporary job as his nephew's live-in nanny. Only problem? Eric refuses to touch her. That doesn't stop Georgia from seducing him. But an earth-shattering encounter leaves her fully exposed, body and soul.

Eric has a long list of reasons to steer clear of the woman he has wanted for as long as he can remember. For one, he refuses to be her next thrill ride. When he claims her, it will be for good. But the attraction is undeniable, and the more they fight it, the stronger it pulls. But will it be enough to conquer their obstacles?

My Review
Georgia doesn't want someone to take care of her or her problems. She wants to live life to the fullest after her duty in the war is over. She loves adventure and wants to end her dry spell with sex. Not just anyone will do. She wants Eric the man she has always known and her brother's best friend. Being a nanny for his nephew keeps them close together. Eric has feelings for Georgia but has made a promise not to touch her. he is set on keeping her from harm and that includes keeping her at a distance. Georgia won't take no for an answer and she shows Eric she wants him but he doesn't want to be a fling. He plans on keeping Georgia. Now he just has to convince her she does need him sometimes.

Georgia may seem wild at times but she really isn't. She just need an outlet for her pain. She is a very sweet, caring, person and it really shows with Eric's nephew. She is also very sexy as she shows with Eric. I like her. She wants to do things on her own and not have people trying to take care of her. She loves the outdoors and is a very proud person. Eric works hard and tries his best to keep things going. He is a great guy for taking care of his nephew and really loves him. He also is very sexy and just has to learn to let the past go.

This was a great hot read that I really enjoyed. I liked the characters and connected very easy with them. Both have faults but overall are great. There is plenty of heat in this book and I like how they have always known each other but both really afraid to say anything. Georgia has a lot bottled up and has to learn to let go and talk. They not only work great together in the bedroom they are amazing together as friends. If you want a great story that you don't want to end try this one.

Her hopes are crushed when her friends pull into a dude ranch instead of a spa, and she refuses to stay longer than one night. That is…until she realizes the ranch is owned by sinfully sexy, and dangerously rugged, Wes Braden—the subject of her late-night fantasies.

Fearless rancher Wes Braden thinks he’s the luckiest guy on the planet when the sweet, sexy librarian from his hometown shows up at his ranch. Their connection is white-hot, making it impossible for either to ignore their carnal desires. Wes is more than willing to convert sweet Callie from chick lit to a world of erotic romance, but Callie ties sex to love, and Wes avoids commitment like the plague.

Callie is thrust into physically demanding activities that ignite her deepest fears. Luckily, Wes is as tender as he is strong, and he’s there every step of the way to help her find her inner strength. With Callie’s influence, Wes might even discover that he’s been nursing a few fears of his own. Passion pulls Callie and Wes from their safe, comfortable lives into each other’s arms, and they’re about to find out just how alike they really are.

My Review
Callie is a librarian and doesn't have a wild side. She loves to read and relax. When her friends tell her they are going on a spa weekend she is reading to do the two things she loves. What she gets instead is a trip to a dude ranch. Not just any dude ranch the one run by the man she is crushing on. Wes is not looking forward to the overnight trip with four women guest. He doesn't fool with the ranch guest and has a strict policy on it. However when he sees one of the four women is Callie he begins to rethink his policy. They both aren't looking for love but they soon see they have something more growing between them than just friends.

Callie is quiet, doesn't like adventure and prefers her romance in books. She has fantasies about Wes but never thinks they will go anywhere. She doesn't believe in casual sex and likes to think she has to be in love to have it. Wes loves his ranch and his family. They are his two passions in life. Having seen his brother fall quickly for a woman he doesn't believe it will ever happen to him. He is a sweet, romantic guy that I don't think he even knew how much of one he was.

I always eagerly look forward to the next book in this series as I have fell in love with all the characters I have met so far. The author does a phenomenal job create people you fall in love with easily. I love how romantic Wes turns out to be. he really pulls out all the stops for Callie. Callie also does some changing as she does thing she never thought she would do. She learns to not really get over but overcome some of the fears she has in her life. She really has to open her heart and learn to trust Wes in this book. I like all of Callie's friends and in a way hate that they have husbands as they could have been another bunch of stories to hear.  I din't connect as well to Wes and Callie as I did other stories in this series but I still enjoyed them. If you have never tried one of these books they are a must read.

A Wicked Game : Review & Giveaway

Hi everyone! I have a stop on the A Wicked Game blog tour today. There is a review of the book and a giveaway for you all.

A Wicked Game
An Elite Classified Novel #2
By: Evie Knight

Blurb
Tori is a career woman at the top of her game. She has everything she ever wanted except a happily ever after. She is ready and determined to find it. When her friend Ariana offers her an invitation to an exclusive online dating service, she decides—against her better judgment—to use it.

A blast from her past is not what she expects.

When Jack realizes he’s been set up with the one woman he’s failed to forget, he has two choices: leave or stay. Life doesn’t give second chances this easy, and it isn’t above him to let go of an opportunity such as this. After all, there cannot be a sweeter revenge.

My Review
Tori is ready for her happily ever after. She has everything else in her life but that. When her friend offers her an invitation to use her exclusive online dating membership she takes the chance. She plans on a wild night she just didn't plan on seeing an old face. Jack can't resist the chance to get back at Tori for what she did to him years ago. The two start a game of their own with a fling never thinking it would be more. Now Jack my have went to far and Tori calls Game Over.

Jack is a very sexy man who has never got over what Tori did to him years ago. He has a chance to drive her wild and he does. I love his way of getting her back. He doesn't want to call what develops between them a relationship and is afraid to get to close to her. He is smart, has a sense of humor and at times can seem like a jerk. He does do a few things to make it up. Tori in some ways was a mean girl years ago. She is good at her job and loves it but she doesn't have anyone in her life. She does give Jack another chance and she knows when to let go. She is a very sexy woman who has a wicked sense of humor.

This was a quick hot read. I love all the action between Tori and Jack. I also enjoyed the funny moments it had. I laughed several times while reading it. Tor and Jack have a past they have to get past and they also have to see if they have a future. They are both hard headed at times and I could see they clearly belong together but are afraid to show it. While they have no problems in the bedroom they do have communication problems. If you like a hot story and a great series try this one.

Veiled Target Release Day Blast : Excerpt & Giveaway

Hi everyone! I have the release day blast for Veiled Target today. There is an excerpt from the book and a giveaway for you all.

Veiled Target
Veilers #1
By: Robin Bielman
Releasing July 22nd, 2014

Blurb
Never take Fate along on a date. The kiss goodnight could be deadly.

Tracking down Veilers—non humans—is only a sideline for Tess Damon. Vengeance for her fiancé’s murder is her reason for living. But with two botched jobs on her record, if she fails to eliminate her next mark, she’s dead. She’s not afraid to die, but not before she gets even. Too bad fate has a really bad sense of humor.

Hugh Langston, a wolfen half shifter, lives to keep both humans and his pack safe. But when rogue humans kidnap his apprentice, his rescue mission is compromised by a hot-as-hell, kick-ass woman who makes him think only one thing: mine.

Tess tries to ignore her feelings, but temptation trips her up. Especially when Hugh figures out he’s her next target and forces her into an inconvenient alliance that tests all the laws against their attraction. Now, with the line between good and evil getting blurrier by the minute, it becomes clear Tess’s only hope of living to see another day—and finding a murderer—lies with the one man she’s supposed to kill.

Excerpt
“Cut the crap, Tess. Why were you following me?”

“How do you know I was following you?” Oops. She meant to say, “What makes you think I was following you?”

He gave a knowing smile—that looked ridiculously sexy rather than irritating. “I know you don’t want to insult my intelligence so let’s just say for argument’s sake, if you were following me, why would that be?”

At least she’d gotten him to change his tone.

“Truthfully?” She leaned a little closer to him. She couldn’t help it.

“That would be nice.”

“I’m really not a very nice person,” she announced.

“Neither am I.” He reached out and moved a strand of hair behind her ear.

Was he trying to confuse her? Because it was working. She’d nearly fallen into his hand before he pulled it away. He was indeed a very bad man.

“That’s good. I hate nice guys. So where does that leave us?”

“I haven’t got all night, Tess.” He lowered his chin, indicating—she presumed—he was growing tired of their banter.

She lifted an eyebrow. “No? That’s too bad. I’m a night owl. I can—”

“Answer my question before I haul you to your car over my shoulder.” His tone sent a little zing of pleasure right to the tips of her breasts.

“As if you could—” She was over his shoulder in one second flat. He moved swiftly, quietly and with superhuman strength. Uh oh. “Hey, put me down!”

He started down the alley, seemingly unbothered by her spastic attempts to get him to let her go. “You ready to walk and talk now?”

“Fine,” she conceded, although the view of his backside was pretty damn good.

When both feet securely hit the ground, she tugged down her dress and shifted the V-neck into place. He watched her squirm to put the rest of the material back where it belonged and his roving eyes heated her from the inside out.

“I followed you because I wanted to help.”

He started walking. “Do I look like I need help?” A little gleam—and major interest?—flickered in his sideways glance.

“Well, no. But I’m very capable and I didn’t feel like going home, so I decided there was no harm in making myself available to you should you need me.” She took a deep breath. It was time to put the question out there. “Did you know Dane is a—”

“Wolfen? Yeah I know.”

“How do you—”

He stopped and turned toward her with confusion and passion in his deep blue eyes. For several seconds he stared at her, like he was trying to get inside her head. Guess what she was thinking. “I’m the leader of the Night Runners,” he finally said.

She imagined he’d told her something he’d never told another human being before.

What the hell was she going to do now?
