Read, Write, Love
The Remington’s Series Book Five
By: Melissa Foster
Releasing May 12th, 2014

Bestselling author Kurt Remington lives to write. He spends twelve hours a day in front of his computer, rarely leaving the seclusion of his beach-front property, where he's come to finish his latest thriller--that is, until free-spirited Leanna Bray nearly drowns in the ocean trying to save her dog. Kurt's best-laid plans are shot to hell when he comes to their rescue. Kurt's as irritated as he is intrigued by the sexy, hot mess of a woman who lives life on a whim, forgets everything, and doesn't even know the definition of the word organized.

Leanna's come to the Cape hoping to find a fulfilling career in the jam-making business, and until she figures out her own life, a man is not on the menu. But Leanna can't get the six-two, deliciously muscled and tragically neat Kurt out of her mind. She tells herself she's just stopping by to say thank you, but the steamy afternoon sparks a wild and sexy ride as Kurt and Leanna test the powers of Chemistry 101: Opposites Attract.

My Review
Kurt is spending the summer on the Cape working on his latest book. He hardly ever gets away from his laptop and doesn't like to be disturbed. He likes things neat and tidy. The last thing he expects to interrupt his writing is a woman trying to save a dog in the ocean during a storm. Leanna is a free spirit who leaves a mess in her wake. She isn't sure what she wants to do in life and she sure isn't shy. When Leanna goes back to thank Kurt he finds he can't get her out of his mind. She has him wanting to take time away from his book. They are complete opposites but seem to balance each other out. Just when they think they may have the start to a good future Leanna gets the chance of a lifetime. It may cause them to be tore apart before they have a chance at a future.

Kurt is a very focused man. He never misses a deadline and keeps everything in it's place. He only seems to take time away for his family and that is it. He isn't much on dating. Leanna is a very open person. She is not shy at all and always seems to have a mess going on. She has a few ideas what she wants to do in life but nothing is settled. She likes to move around. She is also  afraid to be her self in bed at times.

I was glad to get to read this book as Kurt was never talked about a whole lot. He kinda stays on the edges and seems quiet. This book gave me a chance to see a whole new side of him. He is very sweet and sexy. He an be very romantic. Leanna brings out so many good things in him and gets him to enjoy his life along with Pepper. He shows just how thoughtful he can be when he does everything he can to help Leanna and is very considerate of her friends. He also takes his time with her and lets her be herself. I like that Leanna while being a very sexy woman and not shy does worry about her sexual performance. She gives voice t what many women worry about and I think it was a nice touch that the author added a character like her. I laughed while reading this many times. You get to meet many great new characters and lots of the older ones you may already know. I never gave much thought to Kurt but I think he may be one of my favorite brothers. You must read this series if you haven't yet. While they can be read as a standalone i say read them all they are fantastic.

The Other Me Book Blast & Giveawa

Hi everyone! I have the book blast for The Other Me today. There is info on the book and a giveaway for you all.

Title: The Other Me
Author: Suzanne van Rooyen
Publisher: Harmony Ink Press
Release Date: 19 Dec, 2013
Length: 216 pages
Genre: YA, LGBT, contemporary

Fifteen-year-old Treasa Prescott thinks she's an alien. She doesn't fit in with the preppy South African private school crowd and feels claustrophobic in her own skin. Treasa is worried she might spend life as a social pariah when she meets Gabriel du Preez. Gabriel plays the piano better than Beethoven, has a black belt in karate, and would look good wearing a garbage bag. Treasa thinks he's perfect. It might even be love, as long as Gabriel doesn't find out she's a freak.

As Treasa spends time with Gabriel, she realizes she might not love him as much as she wants to be him, and that the reason she feels uncomfortable in her skin might have less to do with extra-terrestrial origins and more to do with being born in the wrong body.

But Gabriel is not the perfect boy Treasa imagines. He harbors dark secrets and self-destructive tendencies. Still, Treasa might be able to accept Gabriel's baggage if he can accept who she longs to be.

"The Other Me is a story that will stay with me for a long time. This is what YA should be and Van Rooyen has that uncanny ability to wedge you inside the heads of her characters where you will feel all their pain, love, joy and sorrow. I cannot recommend this book enough if you’re looking for a story that will challenge your preconceptions.” – Nerine, You Gotta Read Reviews

"This book is a great new contemporary read, so different from everything else that's out there, and it is brilliant! Suzanne van Rooyen does a brilliant job of crafting a story that is not only entertaining and engaging, but interesting and unique too.”– Myra, Pieces of Whimsy

"I loved Suzanne Van Rooyen's writing style. It made reading her words so easy. Her characters came across as incredibly real. Add all of that into the uniqueness of the stories subject and The Other Me turned out to be a book that I absolutely loved. So much in fact that I would love to read more of these characters.” – Tracey, YA Book Addict"

Suzanne is a tattooed story-teller and peanut-butter addict from South Africa. She currently lives in Finland and finds the cold, dark forests nothing if not inspiring. Although she has a Master’s degree in music, Suzanne prefers conjuring strange worlds and creating quirky characters. When not writing you can find her teaching dance and music to middle-schoolers or playing in the snow with her shiba inu. She is rep'd by Jordy Albert of the Booker Albert Agency.

Against the Cage Blog Tour : Review & Giveaway

Hi everyone! I have a stop on the Against the Cage blog tour today. There is a review of the book and a giveaway for you all.

AGAINST THE CAGE: Worth the Fight Series
Loveswept Contemporary Romance
Written by Sidney Halston
Releasing May 27, 2014

In her Loveswept debut, Sidney Halston turns up the heat as a sexy cage fighter shows a former bookworm how delicious a few rounds between the sheets can be.

For Chrissy Martin, returning to her Florida hometown always seems to bring bad luck. The day starts with a breakup text, followed by a jailhouse phone call from her troublemaker brother. Now a routine traffic stop has ended with her accidentally punching an officer . . . in a delicate place. Then Chrissy realizes that the hot cop on the receiving end of her right hook is none other than the man from her teenage fantasies.

Jack Daniels knows how to take a hit. After all, when he’s not chasing reckless drivers, he’s kicking ass in a mixed martial arts ring. So what takes his breath away isn’t the low blow, but the woman who dealt it: a gorgeous knockout with legs Jack wouldn’t mind being pinned under—who just so happens to be his best friend’s nerdy little sister, all grown up. Soon their instant chemistry leads to a sizzling affair, but Jack and Chrissy are fighting an uphill battle if they want to make love last beyond the final bell.

My Review
Chrissy Martin is going home after being away for years. She is going to help her brother and get away after  a string of bad luck. he bad luck follows her and she ends p being pulled over. After an accident with the cop she realizes he is her brother's best friend who she crushed on for years. Jack Daniels is surprised by Chrissy. He remembers the slightly overweight nerdy girl from years ago. The sexy woman he sees now shocks him. She is a doctor back in town to help her brother. She hates the fact they both fight to make extra money and while they begin to know the adult versions of each other they have to get over all the trouble her brother seems to get into. They have to learn to understand each other and see if they can make it work.

This is a very good story that kept my interest until the end. Chrissy is all grown up and different from when she was young. She still at times doesn't understand she is sexy now. She is a doctor and can't seem to understand why her brother and Jack fight. She is also one to get into trouble everywhere she goes. She is afraid Jack is just out for one thing and most of the time she doesn't listen to what he says. Jack lies to her a few times to try and keep her from trouble but it never seems to work for him. I like both of the characters and how much Jack tries to show her he cares. His little dog is a nice touch and I love how it only listens to Chrissy. There is several hot scenes to get your blood going. There is also several moments you see how great a person Chrissy is. She tries her best to hel others from making the same mistakes she does. If you like a story with wonderful characters and a great plt be sure to try this one.

Hi everyone! I have a stop on the blog tour for Kane's Bounty & Joshua's Mistake today. There is a review of both books, an excerpt and a giveaway for you all.

Kane’s Bounty & Joshua’s Mistake
By: A.S. Fenichel

Kane’s Bounty
Released May 8th, 2013

Telepathic bounty hunter Kane has one rule—never get involved with a fugitive.

It’s a simple assignment with good money at the end. Picking Lena up is no problem. Protecting her when her ex-husband, mercenaries and another bounty hunter threaten her turns into the fight of their lives.

Together, the Stones of Adeline and Lena are powerful magic. She never considered the complication of the sexy bounty hunter and her undeniable desire for him. Their paranormal bond will need to be strong if they’re to survive together.

My Review
Kane is a bounty hunter who has never failed at his job. He gets his orders and brings the fugitives in. He is a telepathic and great at his job. he never gets involved with the fugitives. That is until he meets Lena. Her ex husband is after her and has set her up. She can tell the future with the Stones of Adeline. When they meet they can't deny the sexual chemistry between them. Now on the run Kane has to keep her safe so she can take down her ex husband.

One word to describe this book is Hot! Kane and Lena know how to heat things up very well. The use of their paranormal powers just makes them so much better in bed. Lots of steamy scenes to enjo in this book. Besides the hotness there is also plenty of danger. Lena's ex is a crazy man who wants her so he can use her for his personal gain. He uses everything he has and everybody he can to bring her in. He doesn't care what happens as long as he gets what he wants. Lena while wanting Kane she still has to learn to trust him. Kane learns he cars so much for Lena he will do anything to protect her. They both make a wonderful coupke and I love when Lena makes good use of a lamp. She is afraid but doesn't back down. This is a wonderful story that is a quick read but fascinating. Of you like hot stories with great characters with awesome powers be sure to try this one.

Kane’s Bounty Book Trailer:

Joshua’s Mistake
 Released March 28th, 2014

Accused of treason and the murder of her Psychic Special Forces team, Tessa is in the custody of the FBI. She’s shocked and terrified when the most powerful Psi Agent in the world shows up to probe her mind and discover her guilt or innocence.

Joshua never expected to find a victim of one of his probes attractive, but he can’t seem to leave her behind when all hell breaks loose. Saving the stunning blonde means being drawn into a psychic war that will definitely end his career—and likely both of their lives.

The rhythm of their psychic auras hums to perfection and neither can fight the bond, but it’s all ripped away by a madman with a grudge. Tessa falls into a coma, and Joshua will have to risk his heart and soul to pull her back from the brink.

My Review
Joshua is the best there is at probing peoples minds. When he is sent to bring Tessa into custody he finds she hasn't done any wrong and that he wants her. Tessa has been accused of treason and murder but knows she did nothing wrong. She is a victim who is being set up for mysterious reasons. She has to let Joshua into her mind to see who is behind all this. What he finds is someone who could be unstoppable if he isn't stopped right away. They both fall for each other but may not have a long time together as Tessa is attacked and put in a coma. Joshua has to be strong enough to bring her back and stop the bad guy.

Tessa doesn't trust easy and it is hard for her to let Joshua in. She knows she did no wrong. Joshua is very powerful and he doesn't like to use his power in any bad form. Tessa and he are very well paired as they both seem to bring the other alive. There is lots of heat between them and I just love Tessa in a strip club. She becomes so open that it even shocks herself. Were Kane's book and lots of action this one does as well. This one s a flat out war with an enemy from the past. Joshua shows his love and care for Tessa very much as he tries to bring her back to him. I liked seeing all the different versions of Tessa in her mind. It seemed like something that may just happen to people in comas. I highly recommend this book for hotness, action and all kinds of goodness.

Joshua got up from the farm table. “I’ll be back in a little while. Peggy, can you show Tessa where she can rest?”
Peggy smiled warmly. “Of course. You’ll be wanting a shower too. If you give me those clothes, I’ll get them in the washing machine and have them clean when you wake up.”
“You’re very kind, Mrs. Flack.”
She waved a bony hand in dismissal. “You just call me Peggy. Everyone does.”
Tessa had said all the right things to Peggy. She had been polite and controlled her emotions. Inside, she was just short of full on panic. He was leaving her. Who could blame him? Tessa didn’t want to alarm the Flacks so she remained silent, yet practically screamed in her mind, “Where the hell are you going? Are you leaving me here?”
Part of her wanted him to hear and another part of her understood why he would want to get as far away from her as possible. Just because she could feel his emotions didn’t mean he would sense hers. He was undoubtedly very practiced at closing off his mind. If he was really a level ten psychic, he would have to just to stay sane.
He’d likely get killed if he stayed with her. At least he’d gotten her to a place where she could try to catch a few hours of sleep and then she’d be on the run. Probably for the rest of her life, however long that might be.
From the way his head spun around, she might as well have spoken out loud. His eyes widened and then he stalked toward her. He was visceral and terrifying. His body language said he wanted her and he might take her right there in the kitchen.
Tessa held her ground in the center of the old linoleum floor. She didn’t know if she wanted to move closer or run away. Everything about Joshua made her at once, curious, aroused and afraid.
Bill cleared his throat and walked out the door with his shotgun in his hand.
Peggy said, “Well, um…I’ll just wait for you in the next room, Tessa dear.”
Joshua didn’t stop until he was standing with only a sliver of light between them. She had to crane her neck to look up at him. His mouth came within a centimeter of hers, but he never touched her.
“I’m not leaving you.”
Her heart pounded in her chest and her stomach clenched painfully. “I can take care of myself.”
One side of his mouth lifted. His right hand came up and calloused fingers slid across her cheekbone. He was powerful. He could kill her. If his psi rating was true, he could likely kill her without touching her, but he could just as easily snap her neck. She could defend herself, but what would be the point. This was Joshua Lakeland. Eventually he would win.
Those same fingers continued until they were threaded through her hair and he forced her to look him in the eye. “I know you can, Tessa. I’m not leaving because I don’t want to leave you. I can’t explain why, but we’re in this together. You’re going to have to learn to trust me.”
She had to force air into her lungs. “I’ve already taken several leaps of faith. You just said you were leaving. If you want to go, then go.”
He shook his head, but didn’t release her. “I’m going to get rid of the car. I don’t want to get picked up by the local police because we made a rookie mistake and kept a stolen car too long.”
“Oh.” She could feel her cheeks flushing.
His left hand came up and cupped her other cheek. He ran a thumb along her bottom lip. She wanted to be impervious to his attention, but her body trembled at his touch.
His mouth drew closer. His breath mingled with hers as her lips separated partially in shock at what was about to happen and partially in need of his kiss. Those deep blue eyes locked with hers and she couldn’t blink or look away. He scanned her face to her lips, closed his eyes and stepped away.
Tessa’s instinct told her she should throw her arms around his neck and take the kiss he’d nearly given. Her cautious nature kept her feet planted in the spot on the linoleum.
Only the sound of heavy breathing filled the kitchen for several ticks of the clock.
“I’ll be back in a little while. You’d better get some rest.” Joshua walked out the kitchen door into the yard.

Eyeing the open travel bag on the ceramic floor, Whitney bent and slipped her hand into the bag. Wrapped between a shirt and a pair of boxers, cold metal touched her fingers. She pulled the item out of the bag. A gun. Her stomach knotted as she stared at the weapon. The truth struck her hard.
Nathan had sent Blake to kill me.
The water stopped. The shower doors opened.
She leveled the gun at Blake’s chest. “Stay right there.”
He froze. “Guess you found my gun.” He stepped out of the shower stall. Water pooled at his feet. “We both know you’re not going to shoot me.”
“Wanna bet?” God, please don’t make me...

Color of Danger
Secrets of Rios Azules Series
By: Alexa Verde

Former runaway Mari Del Lobo works hard to save her struggling restaurant and to trust people again. Dallas surgeon Dr. Luke Goodman turns her world upside down with terrifying news. A recent murder has her late brother's - aka the Smiling Killer - signature and MO. When attacks on her escalate, Mari fights her growing attraction to the good doctor as fiercely as she fights for her life. To rescue herself and those she loves, will she be able to stop the murderer before he strikes again?

Luke couldn't save his fiancée from the Smiling Killer, but he'll do anything to prevent more murders, even ask help from the serial killer's sister. Finding a kindred tortured soul and the perpetrator's next target in Mari, Luke is determined to protect the stubborn ex-rebel. But Mari would rather face danger than risk the safety of the man she comes to love.

My Review
Mari is trying to keep her life on a good path, make her restaurant successful, trust people again and move on from what her brother did. He was a murderer and even after his death he haunts her life. Now Dr. Luke Goodman has arrived with bad news. There is a new killer out there using her late brothers signature. The killer is leaving clues that point to Mari being next. They work together to figure out who the killer is. Being close together also begins to bring them healing. Mari and Luke both suffered at the hands of Mari's brother. They fall for each other and Mari has to face the killer alone to save Luke.

This was an intriguing book. Mari has had a horrible past and not just from er brother. She considers her friends her family. She will do anything to keep them safe. She doesn't like to ask for help and would rather face danger alone than take the chance of someone else getting hurt. She is afraid to let anyone new in. Luke has lost the woman he loved and at times feels guilty he didn't save her and how Mari makes him feel.  They both are great people that have a lot to look forward to if they can find the killer. There is so much danger in this book and I have to say the Killer surprised me. I didn't see it coming who it is and was surprised by the motive. The ending was great as it showed that Mari still is insecure at times and how much Luke loves her. If you like a love story with danger and mystery be sure to try this one.

Hi everyone! I am very happy to be a part of the cover reveal for The Key To My Heart. I really love this author and series. There is some teasers for you all and an excerpt. First some about the book.

Harmony's Echo, Texas is a small town being put on the map. It all started with Baby Stetson when Avery Callimer finally gets the answers she's longed for and finds the courage to chase her dreams.

Then, in The Melody In My Head, a woman on the run finds her place in this tiny map dot of a town. Lead guitarist Jameson finally has to face his past and has a chance at love....

Coming in July 2014, readers will learn about Blaine Grant, Jameson's sister. You met her in The Melody In My Head, where there's a glimpse of something going on between Blaine and Baby Stetson's keyboard player, Randy.

Now their story is almost here. And today, we're revealing the cover for The Key To My Heart. Are you ready?

One dream fails, a passion burnt out...

Blaine Grant hightailed it out of Harmony's Echo a year out of high school to find herself. Finding a passion didn't come as easily to her as it did for others around her. Now, Blaine has come home for good with mistakes she'd like to forget, but the past doesn't want to forget her. Everyone thought she'd been selfish to not come back when she was needed the most, but Blaine never let anyone know the emotional hell she went through.

Another dream is just beginning to see the light...

Randy Hughes has always been the shy nice guy. He's the glue that holds his family together. He's the one who takes everyone in when they need it, and he's the one whose own dreams are ignored. Now that big things are happening for the Baby Stetson band, Randy has to decide how to handle his family when his dreams are on the line...

A friendship is changing.

One spur of the moment, impulsive move leads Randy and Blaine into a dire situation that may bring them together, or pull them apart, just when he's finally able to gather the courage to tell Blaine how he's felt about her all these years...

Revisit the characters you've come to know in small town Harmony's Echo, as more changes settle upon them.

“Night, buddy.” He closed the door quietly and went back to the living room with Blaine.  He found her leaning back with her eyelids half closed. “You look like you're about to fall asleep.”
With a startled gasp, Blaine opened her eyes. “I guess I was.” She grinned sheepishly.
“Why don't you take my bed tonight? The couch isn't going to be comfortable if you have back pain. I think Marsha might have a few of her clothes here form the last time she had a fight with her husband, so I can give those to you to sleep in.”
“Kay. Thanks.” Blaine mumbled.
Yeah, he'd made the right call to not let her drive anywhere.
Forget the change of clothes. He'd just help her to bed and let her sleep it off.
“Come on, you. Let's get you comfortable.” Randy eased Blaine to her feet, holding on so that she didn't fall.
“I could just stay there.” Blaine protested.
“Trust me,  it's not comfortable. You'll thank me in the morning.” Randy wrapped his arm around her and led the way to his room.
“Is that what you say to all the pretty girls?” She giggled. Yeah, she was way out of it. He could tell by the tone in her voice. Blaine acted loopy.
“There's only one pretty girl I'd ever want to say it to in that way.” He shot back, knowing full well she wouldn't remember this conversation in the morning.
“Oh yeah? Is she cuter than I am?” Another snort. Wow, muscle relaxers had one weird ass effect on her.
“Depends on the day.” Randy teased, finally making it to the room. “Nah. You're always the prettiest.”
“That's not what Frederic said.” Blaine replied, sounding sad all of a sudden.
Randy froze. “Who's that?”
“The asshole I worked with. The man that ruined my life and career.”
