The Earth Painter
By: Melissa Turner Lee

Blurb
When a self-conscious young woman discovers the boy in drama class is actually the immortal who painted the world into being, she becomes the target of another painter who hates humanity.

The Earth Painter is a Young Adult Supernatural Romance set in the small mill town of Chesnee, SC. It revolves around Holly Scruggs, whose family has just moved back to Chesnee after her dad lost his job along with pretty much everything they owned. Her image conscious parents correct her to the point of brokenness until she meets Theo. He is the artist responsible for all the beauty of the land and he thinks Holly is beautiful too. Together they will fight against Fritz, the water painter who hates humans and is hiding a secret under the high school.

My Review
Holly has moved to Chesnee. It is where her parents are from and where they have returned to after losing almost everything they have. She has to try and be perfect and put on a front for people so she looks good to people who know her parents. She tries to go unnoticed until she notices Theo. No one every notices him as that is the way it is meant to be. He is the Earth painter and has to follow rules. As he gets to know Holly and she becomes a target for the water painter Fritz he has decide whether he will get involved or help the girl he Doesn't understand his feelings for. It becomes a battle of right vs wrong and the humans will be the ones to pay.

Holly has lived a difficult life. Everyone thinks she has it all but she has to live up to her mother's standards and that is something she knows she can't do. She has constantly been told she isn't pretty enough, good enough and has to do things her mom's way. She finally after meeting Theo decides to do what she wants and live her life the way she wants. Being told she is not pretty her whole life Theo helps her see she is pretty.

I don't know why it has took me so long to read this book. I'm so grateful to have the reason to move it up on my list and read it. This book is different and gives a breathe of fresh air. You get to see a girl come out from under her mom's thumb to become someone strong and independent. I love the idea for the different painters and how they each add their own touch to earth. You get pulled.into this book as you learn more and more about the idea the author has in this book you find yourself in awe and wonder. So many different ideas are in it. I really enjoyed about the pandas as it will make you wonder. You also have issues that everyday people go through. You see how evil some people can be and how they won't listen when they need help. I want to go on and on with book and see I have rambled some. If you want something different and great that leave you wanting more try this book.
