Hi everyone I have a stop on the Pendomus blog tour today. There is a review of the book and a giveaway for you all.
Synopsis
Humanity has colonized on the tidally locked planet Pendomus.
Residing between extreme heat and frigid cold is the complex known as the Helix. Within lies a highly sophisticated society functioning solely on humans fulfilling their life’s purpose as determined by their natural aptitudes and daily brain scans.
Seventeen-year-old Runa Cophem has found her calling studying the ancient trees nearby and anxiously awaits a professional placement which will allow her to continue her work.
Runa’s life takes an unforeseen turn when she’s brutally attacked and left for dead in those woods. Rescued by a stranger with blue hair, she’s immersed into a surprising way humanity has survived without the Helix. Fueled by a yearning to understand and an attraction she didn’t even know was possible, Runa tries to make a new life for herself. Yet, there’s much she doesn’t know about herself, about the planet, and the forces controlling her from afar.
What she needs are some answers.
My Review
Humans no longer live on earth. They live on Pendomus and in a complex called Helix. The humans rarely talk and communicate with an elink. The government assigns jobs and Runa is sure she will get the job she wants. When she doesn't get that job she leaves the Helix. There she is attacked by a Morph and certain she is dying. She is saved by some people who live outside the Helix. She begins to heal and is told she is different from others and destined for other things. While she learns more about the world she lives on she makes some unusually friends. She has just begun her journey.
This book sounded intriguing from the blurb. Not to mention the amazing cover. It is book that combines scifi, action, some magical and in a way it is a dystopian world. The author does a great job combining all these things and you get a book you can't put down. I liked most of the characters and found myself very intriguied as I got to know them. I will say the first few chapter I was a little confused by what all was going on. after I got it figured out the book really took off for me. I love the pace of it and getting to know all the characters. Runa is amazing and at times in the beguiining she seemed liked a cchild not understanding things. The only thing that would have made it better would have been more worldbuilding so you get an understanding right away. That would make a great prequel story though. I look forward to the next book in this series as I have to see what is in store for Runa next. I wonder what her journey will bring.
