Angel Kin : Review

Angel Kin (Angel Assassins #1)
by Tricia Skinner
Blurb
While channeling Robin Hood's "steal from the rich and give to the poor" attitude at a local politician's house, ex-con Katie Logan witnesses a forced suicide. Dirty or not, supernatural or not, he didn't deserve to die, especially not by his own hand. But with her record, stepping forward as a witness isn't an option. On the run from the police and the murderer, she turns to The Bound Ones for help.

When a beautiful woman comes to The Bound Ones, half-angel assassin Cain is immediately drawn to her. But when she fingers him as the killer, he can come to only one conclusion. The twin he thought was dead is very much alive…and trying to send him a message. Unfortunately, that message is: "You're next."

It's a race against time as Cain fights to save the woman he's falling in love with before his brother Abel destroys them both.

My Review
Katie is trying to help some friends out and that means she has to go back to stealing. She has to get them enough money so the vampire's after them will leave them alone. While robbing a snake shifters house she becomes a witness to a murder. She can't go to the police because she shouldn't have been there. Her brother takes her to the only place he knows she will be safe The Bound Ones. Cain is a half angel in the Bound Ones and he immediately is intrigued by Katie. The only problem is she thinks e is the killer she saw. She says it was him and Cain only knows one person who looks like him. His twin who died a long time ago. Cain's brother Abel sends him a message letting him know he is next to die. While Cain and Katie fall in love they have to try and stop Abel and those who command him, hide from the police and try to stay alive.

I really enjoyed reading this book as it has lots of action. There is no slow parts and the book keeps a great pace all the way through it. There is several characters in it as it I the first book in the series but you don't get over whelmed by all of them. The focus stay on Cain and Katie. You do get to see and understand who they are and just enough to make you want to see more of them. Katie is a great character as she goes somewhere she thinks she will be safe yet thinks she is near the killer. She has a freak out moment and I liked it. To many times a character has just drooled over another even when they think they are bad. Not so here. Once she finds he isn't the one then she starts to have some series lusty thoughts. Cain is a half angel with some amazing powers. I loved seeing him in action. Plus I have to say I love how innocent he is at times as well as a fast learner. If you like stories with angels, danger and some steamy parts be sure to try this one. I look forward to the next book in this series.
