Don’t Blackmail the Vampire
Author: Tiffany Allee
Release Date: 4/28/14
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Book Synopsis:
Rachel Davis will do anything to get her sister out of a bad relationship with her fiancé. Even if it involves a few fibs, a little breaking-and-entering, and blackmailing the fiancé's potential boss, Charles, for his help. So what if the handsome Charles happens to be a vampire?
Charles Wright has found the perfect way to trap the man threatening his brother's wife: cozy up to him, get invited along on the skiing trip, and then search for incriminating evidence. How much better that audacious but gorgeous Rachel is just as eager to nail the bastard. As far as he's concerned, there's nothing wrong with a little blackmail between two consenting adults. Especially when it's time for Rachel to pay up.
Tagline: What’s a little blackmail between consenting adults?
My Review
Rachel can't stand her sister's fiance. She will do anything to get her sister to see he is a cheating do and she can do better. That includes blackmailing his potential boss Charles. Charles is a surprise to her in more ways than one. He is good looking, caring and a vampire. Charles has his own plans and that is to find out if that man is threatening his brothers fiance. He has to stay close to him and helping Rachel only helps him with his plan. Rachel isn't a flashy showy woman but being close to her brings him to see she is different from other women. They may start out using each other but when their time is up what will they do?
Charles is very sexy and charming. He has a sense of humor and a normal person I believe he could talk into anything. He has strong family ties and would do anything for them. Rachel is afraid of commitment for her own reasons and in ways it has made her afraid to take chances. She is smart, seems clumsy and above all she loves her sister. She will do anything to protect her. She can also be sexy at times.
I loved the first book in this series and enjoyed this one just as much. Charles hooked me in from the start. I have to say I would blackmail him as well. Rachel is also great as even when she should be scared she still stand up and blackmails Charles into helping her. They have so much chemistry between them. They have roles they need to play to get what they both want and at times it does things to hurt both of them. I got several laughs while reading this book. It is really very charming and I love the way the author writes. You can really connect with all the characters whether they are good guys or slimeballs you get some kind of feeling for them. Charles has to learn to really listen to his heart and go after what he wants. Rachel has to let go of her past and learn to trust. If you like a lighter vampire romance that isn't dark pick this one up. You don't have to read the first book as this can be read as a stand alone but I would still recommend you do as this is a great series. I can't wait for the next one.
