Andi has always had a dream—a kitchen big enough to bake and dance in, while still being able to support her dear daughter Mia, and hopefully find true love (one day). Could opening up a cupcake shop make it all a reality?

She never sees a guy three times in a row for fear he'll break her heart, but she's tempted to make an exception when her coworkers, Andi and Kim, hire Mike Palmer to drive their Cupcake Mobile. Mike meets Rachel when he's wearing his black-masked magician costume at a Creative Cupcakes birthday party and then tries to saw her in half. He draws closer while helping Rachel devise promotion plans to outsmart the arrogant new French pastry chef threatening to put the shop out of business. When a rat runs through the middle of her glitzy promo party and the video is uploaded to YouTube, Rachel fears she won't be able to save the shop, help her mother pay for her grandfather's medical treatment, or win back the heart of the one guy she's come to love . . . or will she?

Stop to Smell the Roses

Thank you for having me here today! I am very excited to share with you my new series - THE CUPCAKE DIARIES: Sweet on You, Recipe for Love, and Taste of Romance. I write sweet, fun-loving romance and in these 3 short, light-hearted novellas Andi, her sister, Kim, and their friend Rachel follow their dream to open a cupcake shop and find true love!

In book 3, Taste of Romance, Kim has become a workaholic to help her forget the fact her old boyfriend left her to fly off to Europe. It doesn't help that everywhere she goes all she sees is couples, couples, couples. The new cupcake shop is filled with them! Have you ever felt like a third wheel? The only one who doesn't have a date?

After a phone call from her sister, Kim promises to take time off to 'smell the roses.' When she ventures into what she assumes to be the new community park, she decides to take the advice literally and begins a quest to smell 100 roses.

Here's an excerpt:

"Why a hundred?"

"That’s the number of things on my to-do list. I thought stopping to smell one rose per task might balance out my life."

"Interesting concept." The attractive gardener appeared to suppress a grin. "How many more do you have to go?"

"I'm at sixty-seven."

"I didn’t mean to interrupt." He set the rose bush down, took off a glove, and extended his hand. "I’m Nathaniel Sj√∂lander."

"Kimberly Burke," she said, accepting the handshake. His hand, much larger than her own, surrounded her with warmth.

"I have to load a couple dozen roses into my truck for the Portland Rose Festival tomorrow, but by all means—keep sniffing."

How many things do you have on your to-do list? How do you balance out your life? I can't wait to hear your comments and hope you enjoy THE CUPCAKE DIARIES
