My Review
Eve has been on her own since she lost her sister. Now she is fighting to survive the zombies to find Olive. Just when things look the worse she comes across her first and only love, the guy who broke her heart. While she doesn't want anything to do with him she agrees to go with him to a safe place he knows about. They have to face many obstacles, challenges and try to fight temptation. Eve isn't the same girl she was growing up and neither is Gage. Their past may just keep them apart.
Eve at first seems like she has had enough. You quickly see given another chance she will do whatever to survive. She is tough, pretty and still mending a broken heart even if she denies it. She is also faithful to her sister even when you wonder why. Gage is also tough, resourceful and at times can seem like a jerk. At least to me he did. He tries to push Eve around but she doesn't back. Olive I could not stand. I didn't like one thing about her. She is selfish, hateful and spiteful and to me she gets what she deserves sometimes.
First off if your like you books on the light side this isn't for you. It is horrifying, gruesome and at times you think wth is wrong with these people. I really enjoyed this book as I love Zombie books but this one has an added touch to the zombies I won't spoil but will say people surprise me at what they will try. This book also has lots of sexual tension between Eve and Gage. It is what really pushes them and while I am surprised at some times they decide to try stuff it shows how things aren't over between them. I liked the flashbacks to before as you get to see just what went on in there past. I look forward to the next book as I am ready to get my shock on some more. If you like a dark paranormal book with sex, gore and more pick this one up.
