by Naima Simone
Six months after concert pianist Aslyn Jericho survives an attack at the hands of an obsessed fan, she is still trying to resume a normal life, despite the paralyzing fears that have stolen her ability to play and perform. Enter her gorgeous and mysterious neighbor with news that threatens to send her spiraling back into her nightmares. Her stalker has returned. And he wants Aslyn.
Months after security specialist Chayot Gray’s darkest secret was exposed to the world, he’s struggling to cope with the fallout. Shame and guilt threaten to consume him, and he longs for the anonymous, numb existence he’s known for two decades. Then he discovers a masked figure lurking outside his neighbor’s home. The pain-filled shadows darkening Aslyn’s eyes call to him, and her loveliness stirs a desire he didn’t know existed. Now Chay must conquer his inner-demons in order to save her from a madman determined to finish the job he started.
Six months after a crazed fan tried to take the life of Aslyn Jericho she is still coping with the nightmares of it. She isn't able to perform and is afraid. Now her terror really grows as it seems a new nightmare has begun. Someone else is after her and she doesn't know what to do. She turns to her neighbor Chayot Gray to help her as he is a security expert. Chayot has his own issues to deal with but he takes on the job. He doesn't want to get to close to Aslyn as he is attracted to her but he has to stay close to keep her safe. Every turn they make it seems her new stalker is one step ahead of them. The closer they get to each other the crazier the stalker becomes. Chayot has to let go of his past and move on to get his head straight. If he doesn't Aslyn may die.
Chayot is smart, sexy and has a very dark past. He has secrets and while they do come back to haunt him he has to learn to let go. Aslyn is very talented but her joy was taken away from her. She has suffered over the years and now she is being hunted again. She is afraid but she is still willing to let Chayot in where she wouldn't let anyone else. They both have fears but are wonderful about helping each other.
From car crashes, murder, peeping toms and more this book will not let you down if you like a suspenseful book that will keep your interest. I love how Aslyn helped Chayot before they ever met. Her music is something they have in common and it is just a starting point for them. He does everything he can to keep her safe as he tries to figure out who is behind stalking her. The stalker has went from slightly crazy to full blown psycho in no time. The author does a good job keeping you guessing who it is and I was not prepared for how nuts the stalker was. It was bad for her but it was a great twist in the book. Aslyn and Chayot have a good chemistry that read clearly through the pages. If you like a book with a great plot, exceptional characters and so much more try this one.
